H&M Studio SS16

The beauty of subscribing to ELLE magazine (apart from an amazing publication) is their ELLE Insider events, and one of these was previewing the H&M Studio SS16 collection before it launched. Inspired by the safari trend, the collection showcased some great bold and graphic prints combined with navys, khakis, oranges and reds. Along with some gorgeous oversized shapes, the pieces had some feature items that were perfect for layering up from kaftans and loose trousers, to oversized blazers and frayed denim trousers. A personal favourite was a printed jumper that was very Isabel Marant.

Pernilla Wohlfarth, H&M's Head of Design's comment on the collection, was that “H&M Studio for spring/summer 2016 is an adventure in style. Our girl is always exploring, whether she’s on the city streets or on the trip of a lifetime. She mixes function with femininity, sportswear with pieces for a party, and whatever she wears she always looks effortless.”

ELLE's Market & Retail Editor Harriet Stewart then gave some tips on how to style up the pieces in the collection along with some of her favourites, and I loved her combination of the navy linen suit with a khaki sports luxe crop underneath to keep it sharp and functional at the same time.

With tasty macarons, prosecco and a chance to shop the collection before it landed, I've already eyed up a few pieces to be adding to my wardrobe for my trip to Cuba. The beauty of the H&M studio collection is it's amazing high street price yet small touches that make it seem triple the amount and much more designer than it actually is.

You can shop the collection TODAY as it lands, and thanks for ELLE for a great evening!
