Bank Holiday pop-ups
Have we reached pop-up overload? Bunny pop-ups, avocado pop-ups, Michael Fassbender pop-ups (okay maybe not that last one). But bank holidays are for exploring the best London has to offer, so here are two of the best that you need to head to this Bank Holiday weekend before they're gone!
KERB Does Alchemy
Located in Southbank, the KERB food festival boasts cuisines from the Indian and Pakistani to Bangladeshi and Sri Lankan. You can go the non-healthy route with delicious curries and overloaded wraps, or go for the healthy option at Spice Box, with brown rice, crunchy chickpeas, mixed green salad and a variety of nuts and veg on top. It was hands down the tastiest street food I’ve had in a while which didn’t make you feel loaded down and heavy.
Until of course you spot the Blutop ice-cream truck. And oh my goodness. Featuring famous Indian spices, we went for an Assam tea chocolate chip cookie, cardamom and honey ice cream topped with salted caramel and chocolate chips to create the ULTIMATE ice-cream sandwich bonanza. Gloriously sweet and filling, and so hard to eat, save room for pudding because it’s just that damn good (and check out their Insta for all foodie's dreams)
Tombo at Liberty
Have you jumped on the matcha trend? As someone who loved green tea before it was cool, I’ve featured matcha green tea on here before as something I love so much to have as a latte, sprinkled on my porridge or a cup of tea at the weekends. And newest matcha venture on the block is the Tombo pop-up at Liberty London.
Open for six weeks (until it opens permanently at South Kensington), they have matcha juices, coffees and teas, alongside some of the best treats I’ve ever seen. We went for the chocolate lava cake in all it’s doughy goodness and a super sweet matcha brownie. But I was still tempted by the matcha bark, macaroons….I cannot describe how much I wanted to empty my bank account to try them ALL. And with the cutest little side table, pull up a chair, have a drink and a cake and then head into Liberty for an explore. And then come back for round two, because you will want to.
KERB x Uniqlo
Bonus; whilst this pop up has already happened, I need to mention the amazing rooftop-I-didn’t-know-existed on top of Uniqlo 311. Featuring KERB again (obsessed much?) last week we popped in for some complimentary prosecco, mac&cheese and brownie bites from Batch Bakery. Because a pop-up round up isn’t complete without a rooftop is it?
London, you the best for delicious food. Happy Bank Holiday Weekend!
