Cakes and competitions at the #SLBloggerBash

With the sun shining and the smell of hot air and picnics, it was a glorious day to attend my first blogger event with Scarlett London and Search Lab for the #SLBloggerBash!

It meant I could finally pull out my nail art stickers and super pretty and favourite bargain ASOS polka dot dress, which I’d been saving for a good event and warmer weather, and for 7 pounds it got me a lot of compliments so money well spent. So pretty in fact that I ended up doing the house cleaning in…

Heading to Albert Place just off Goodge Street, I bumped into Lottie from Lottie Pierce as we were both struggling to find the entrance but after finding the glass lift (and grumpy doorman) we entered into a beautiful bright room filled with wine, games and cupcakes ready to try!

The event had brands such as Urban Outfitters, Quiz, Wynsors and Bon Prix who were all running competitions for premium goody bags, and two amazing prices of a Nikon SLR and a vinyl player! My bad luck meant I won neither and seeing as I have a rubbishy compact camera at the moment, I was a bit gutted.

But I soldiered on! Starting with a wine testing competition, I realised that a) I’m useless and b) I really do hate wine. So I followed my nose to the Bake Off section and drooled over sweet pizzas, salted caramel brownies and the cutest pastel cupcakes. I definitely spent too long lusting over cakes that I am so supremely jealous I could never make.

Urban Outfitters had a chance to dress up in their newest collection and take a cute polaroid for the competition. I particularly loved the aztec print backpack and an amazing Cher from Clueless-esque plaid co-ord. Even I braved the hats as a non hat person and fell in love!

And despite my hatred of selfie sticks, managed to take one being a ‘Prom Queen’ with Quiz for part of their competition. I even managed to catch up with Albertine from Dippy Writes and Jodie from A La Jode and finally meet Scarlett (who was feeling a bit fluey but still a superwoman for still running the event!).

It was such a gorgeous way to spend the afternoon, and came away with some beautiful gifts and new faces. I personally can’t wait for the next one if this is anything to go by!

Thanks for Scarlett London and Search Laboratory for the amazing event!

Thank you so much for coming Kara, it was great to meet you – and I LOVED your dress, what a bargain! You’ve got some fab pictures, I’m so annoyed with myself as I didn’t take any at all – so I’m re-living it through yours haha! I’ll definitely keep you in the loop for the next event, I can’t wait! 🙂
